Founded in 1958 and independent since 1986, Huilongguan has about 1,370 beds and is described as the largest public Grade 3A psychiatric hospital in Beijing and China. It is the Peking University Huilongguan Clinical Medical School.
Its Beijing Suicide Research and Prevention Center, set up in 2002, has been a WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Suicide Prevention since 2007 and runs Beijing’s free 24-hour psychological crisis hotline. Outpatient services include physical therapy, integrative treatment, stress management, sleep medicine, day rehabilitation and tele-psychiatry centres.
