How the Fudan ranking works
Each year the Fudan University Hospital Management Institute asks more than 5,000 senior specialists nominated by the Chinese Medical Association and the Chinese Medical Doctor Association to name the best departments in their field. Reputation scores are combined with research output to produce the overall ranking. Since the 2023 edition, the overall ranking groups China’s top 100 hospitals into five tiers of 20, while the specialty rankings keep exact positions.
