Formed in 1987 from the dental department of the First Hospital of China Medical University, the hospital became Liaoning’s provincial dental hospital in 2007. It has 240 dental units, 100 beds and about 400,000 outpatient visits a year; oral and maxillofacial surgery and periodontics are national key clinical specialties.
It is a branch of the National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases and Liaoning’s dental quality-control centre, with a provincial key laboratory of digital dentistry, and is building a national regional dental medical centre.
