Opened in 1952 as the Soviet Red Cross Hospital, Beijing Friendship Hospital was the first large general hospital founded after 1949. It has campuses in central Xicheng and in Tongzhou, about 2,300 beds and 3.4 million outpatient visits a year, and an International Medical Center with its own booking line.
Its specialities are digestive and urological disease, liver and kidney transplantation, blood purification, tropical and parasitic diseases and integrative medicine.
